Grażyna Alves Świątkowska

I am a graduate of the Faculty of Management at the Poznań University of Economics and Business. In my last year of studies, I got a scholarship in Portugal, where I enhanced my knowledge of economics at Universidade de Lisboa – Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão in Lisbon and at the same time immersed myself in the Portuguese language. At that time, I was already fluent in Spanish, and my classes at the Portuguese university were conducted in English, which I also have a good command of. After graduation, I briefly worked within the area of my academic background, but then left for Portugal, where I spent a total of 7 years, working freelance in translation and tourist services. In the meantime, I became licensed in Poland as a state-certified translator and interpreter of the Portuguese language (1998).

I have been working freelance in language services for 25 years. I am a translator and interpreter, skilled in consecutive and simultaneous interpretation, as well as liaison interpreting and chuchotage (whispered interpretation).

My former customers include: José Manuel Barroso (President of the European Commission), Mário Soares (Prime Minister and President of Portugal), Jerzy Buzek (Prime Minister of Poland and President of the European Parliament), Eusébio (a football legend); I regularly interpret for representatives of local authorities, as well as ambassadors, government ministers and secretaries of state from Poland, Portugal, Brazil, Mozambique and Angola.

I am a member of the Trade Union of State-Certified Translators and Interpreters in Poland (ZZTPwP).

I deliver certified translations not only as hardcopies with my seal and signature, but also as electronic documents with a qualified electronic signature.

I work as a sole proprietor and my services are VAT-exempt.

Outside of work, I love to read, cook, work in my garden and swim, I practise Nordic walking and yoga, trek in mountains and forests, travel around the world, with the bike as my daily mode of transport.
